This post is not so much about me, myself, and I but some simple favorites for the winter season. From time to time I'd love for #sukiestyles to be a resource for you all to hear and see some new things that perhaps you'd like to add to your arsenal! So for this winter favorites post I've got some ear candy and beauty/skin care products to tickle your fancy. And boys--it's not a feminine thing to think about skin care. Eye cream and face creams are good and healthy for you too!
First up for the ears ::
I've been really digging this funky band Vulfpeck lately. They kinda remind me of the Charlie Brown gang if they were to all have grown up and Schroeder never got off the keys after all these years. And of course Charlie Brown makes me think specifically of the Charlie Brown Christmas special. And Christmas obviously makes me think of December...okay you see my logic here right? Haha anyway! They are so funky but with a sense of humor that might not be for all (although Steve Colbert got the wise heads up and featured them recently on his show). Check out their full album below and particularly my favorite song on their album at the 12:05 mark "Game Winner".
For the face ::
My mom put me on this tip...surprise surprise...skin care tips from a Korean mother. But for the cold winter air my face has not fallen victim to any dry, irritating issues because of this wonderful skin care set from a line called Atomy. And you can trust the Koreans for high quality skin care products!! I have been getting such great compliments on my skin and it feels moisturized all day without the feeling of oiliness. Below is a link you can use to purchase their 6 piece moisturizing set which includes an eye cream and bb cream. If you want to go the extra mile, I also use their 4 piece evening deep cleansing set which includes 2 masks!
Lastly, for the lips (particularly girls but I don't wanna rule the boys out just in case!) ::
So I have been absolutely in love with this photo (model: Brittany Brousseau) that has been repinned countless times on Pinterest mostly because of the lip color used. After some stalking I found that the lip color is a velvet matte lip pencil from Nars called Train Bleu.
Deep berry hues are always popular for the winter season but can err on the side of vampy. The vampy looks great on some, but I prefer a bold lip with a clean, sophistcated liner for the eyes and full, filled in brows. I love the combination of gold accessories with this lip color and most likely will be mimicking this look for any holiday and New Year festivities! I'm sure I'll update the blog again in regards to this once I purchase the lip color and try it for myself 🙂
Hope you enjoy!
