I come in peace. The start of a new year always had me roarin' to go--goals set, motivation a blazin', and full steam ahead. By the end of the year I'm usually wiped out, exhausted, and ready to hibernate from Thanksgiving to the next new year questioning what I was able to achieve. This year? I come in peace--my goals are set, my motivation' is a blazin, but I'm taking it a day at a time. This new year I've been letting myself get re-introduced to stillness. By stillness I mean discovering the balance between going with the flow of life/not in control of anything and being over controlling of everything in life. By stillness I mean reminding myself that life is not a leader and that I am not God. By stillness I mean doing my best with each day but trusting that God ultimately knows what is best for me well beyond what I think I can make happen by relying on myself or others. In the stillness you will find the joy of life's surprises and the peace for your worries. This year I'm excited to enjoy all the little daily moments that bring a smile of thankfulness to my lips and the enormous breakthroughs that will have me shaking in my soul. I look forward to spending quality time with people I love and opening new stories with the friendly strangers I will meet. I embrace the hardships that will surely come as we all know resistance is what builds strength. All this being said, I wanted to share some smiles that were had as I rang in this new year of peace in my heart.

The celebration of choice :: I promise it was much more exciting than the calmness you see here. We were the early birds so this was the stillness before the storm (a happy storm!) However, be sure to keep an eye out for Wheelhouse--an exciting new bike-centric coffee shop in a beautiful lofty DTLA space with it's grand opening happening SOON! Of course, I'll most likely have a new blog post featuring the space more when it happens!   My midnight outfit of choice :: I decided last minute to go out and celebrate so this outfit was a mix of a last minute stop at Wasteland + a quick rummage in my room for accessories. I was thrilled to finally have a reason to wear my vintage hat out after nearly a year of it being quite lonesome in my closet. Thanks for all the blog lovin' and support. I look forward to sharing more with you all in 2016! -sukie<3.
